The Chrome-Molly Forging allows fewer opportunities for failure and promotes uniform, efficient heat transfer from the clutch disc. This is to prevent warped friction inserts or loose ring gears. It is strategically lightened, stronger, safer and has better thermal capacity than OE cast flywheels. With smooth operation at all RPMs, these flywheels meet the needs of both the enthusiast and the hardcore racer.

NOTE: This flywheel will not work properly on a B6 S4 without the appropriate pressure plate like in the JHM B6/B7 S4 Clutch/Lightweight Flywheel Combo 

NOTE: Flywheel to Crankshaft bolts must be torqued to 65 ft lbs with the use of loctite on the threads

 

NOTE: JH Motorsports has seen many B6 S4 flywheels fall apart in some cases causing major damage to the transmission. This is why JHM built all its clutch and flywheel products around the new and updated B7 style flywheel and pressure plate. This way we can update all B6 owners to B7 spec components. Our complete kits fit ALL B6/B7 S4 4.2l V8s, we basically take the guesswork out of updating your B6 to B7 specs.

INSTALLATION AND TORQUE NOTES HERE

 

NOTE: Clutch break in is important and must be done properly. For the Stage 3 clutches you need to drive as much city type driving as you can for the first 500 miles (each time you start from a stop or shift it aids in break in, Highway mileage does not count). For Stage 4 clutches the procedure is the same but you must do this break in procedure for 750 miles. Due to Kevlar's resistance to wear it takes longer to break in. You also MUST avoid any racing activities, launching or aggressive driving that gets the clutch hot during this period.

 

NOTE: For those that are looking for a more robust, race oriented clutch setup we highly recommend looking into our R-Series line-up that does not have an SAC. The SAC in OEM and other aftermarket pressure plates work great for comfort and OEM-like drive-ability, however it is not designed to take excessive abuse of track days or aggressive street driving. We have done rigorous testing since 2012 to develop the ultimate clutch solution for both street and track and the R-Series is what is needed to take these cars to the next level.

Still breaking this clutch LWFW in at ~350miles on it. First impression is WOW. The pedal feel is very similar to stock but it engages much much better. Its really hard to describe the difference in words but I would Have to say "crisp" to describe it. There is no more riding feel even under stop and go driving.
Great Job JHmotorsports.
I can't wait for full break in and launch this car the way it was ment to be driven.

WOW!!

I did the light weight flywheel and stage III clutch kit on my 2004 Audi S4 (B6) and all I can say is WOW!! What a difference this kit made. The shifts are crisp and the revs are smooth as can be. All this with a "feel" that's so much better than the stock setup it just makes you grin!

A big thumbs up to the folks at JHM for offering such a significant upgrade to an already great automobile! Way to go fellas, with products like this you have earned my loyalty and respect. All of my performance Audi needs have finally found a vendor that gives me what I want. Great products and great service at a fair price...

The stage 3/4 clutch and LWFW package is a no brainer if you need a new one. I went for the stage 4 and it's very easy to drive like stock (I am no driving god). The LWFW makes a big difference as to how the car revs - much sportier and more important much more fun. I have a B6 and there is a small amount of chatter between 1000 and 1500 rpm under load. Solution? I learnt to shift more appropriately. DO NOT let chatter be a reason not to get this kit, learn to shift instead! Review by Adrian (Posted on 1/1/2012)

As the aforementioned code sections outline, it is against the law to operate or use a vehicle on public streets or highways with modified, altered, or disconnected motor vehicle pollution control devices. This may include but is not limited to, Evaporative Fuel Controls, Catalysts, DPF, PTOX, PCV Systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostatic Air Cleaners, Air Intake Systems, Fuel Injectors, Regulators, Adjustable Cam Gears, ECU Programming, Mapping, or other Computer Modifications. Air Pumps, Air Injection, Timing, and any other Emission System Modification(s).
