INTRODUCING THE ALL NEW, JHM HD LINKAGE CROSS ROD!!! This is NOT just a modified, OEM rod. We have created a heavy duty, upgraded Cross Rod from scratch, built exactly to OEM measurements.

Have you ever broken your delicate stock linkage cross rod and then called the dealer for a new one only to find they only sell it with the main rod for over $300?. Once again, JHM now has a solution.

We have taken our years of experience working on Audi transmissions and linkages and created a completely new, heavy duty, performance cross rod. We no longer modify the OEM unit, we build the ENTIRE cross rod from scratch. Using our in-house jig, we precisely build each unit to make sure it matches all the OEM angles. On the main shift rod end, we use a high-quality, spherical rod end with a bronze race for a more rigid side to side feel. It also increases the longevity and durability of the unit. On the selector shaft cap end, we upgrade from the stock rubber and plastic bushing to our heavy duty, graphite impregnated, polyurethane bushing. Can you say overkill?

INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING - JHM HD Cross Rod with a spherical rod end and heavy dudty, graphite impregnated polyurethane bushing.

NOTE: We used to leave the stock rubber bushing on the selector shaft cap end OEM which would allow for the differing angles between the cross rod and linkage to work in concert. If we made this solid too the linkage would bind, trust us we tried it and it DID bind. Click HERE to see this original design. After spending time experimenting with different bushing materials, we were finally able to find a setup that was an upgrade over the stock setup while still allowing for the cross rod and linkage rod to have different angles.

Just like with the old version, our new JHM HD Cross Rod COMES COMPLETE, AND READY TO BOLT ON WITH ONLY MINOR MODIFICATIONS!!! All you have to do is enlarge the hole in your stock main shift rod for the stock cross rod to 5/16". This will allow the JHM HD Cross Rod to bolt right on. NOTE: If you have an early cross rod on your 2001 and up B5-S4, you may have a late style selector shaft cap. This cap is shown below. This cap has provisions for both early AND late cross rods to be bolted in. The clearance between the OEM bushing and the protrusion for the late cross rod to be bolted to the cap is very tight on a stock car. In some cases, you may have to clearance the area on the cap just slightly to make sure the cross rod can rotate freely. The selector shaft car comes of very easily and is held on by 3 T45 bolts. Please note that you can't just change your cross rod without changing your shifter as well. Make sure you order the correct cross rod for your car and clearance the cap if you have to. The unit below didn't require clearancing.

Vehicle Code § 27156:
(b) No person shall operate or leave standing upon a highway a motor vehicle that is required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device under Part 5 (commencing with Section 43000) of Division 26 of the Health and Safety Code or any other certified motor vehicle pollution control device required by any other state law or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant to that law, or required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device pursuant to the National Emission Standards Act (42 U.S.C. Secs. 7521 to 7550, inclusive) and the standards and regulations adopted pursuant to that federal act, unless the motor vehicle is equipped with the required motor vehicle pollution control device that is correctly installed and in operating condition. No person shall disconnect, modify, or alter any such required device.
(c) No person shall install, sell, offer for sale, or advertise any device, apparatus, or mechanism intended for use with, or as a part of, a required motor vehicle pollution control device or system that alters or modifies the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control device or system.

Health and Safety Code § 43000:
43001. The provisions of this part shall not apply to:
(a) Racing vehicles.

As the aforementioned code sections outline, it is against the law to operate or use a vehicle on public streets or highways with modified, altered, or disconnected motor vehicle pollution control devices. This may include but is not limited to, Evaporative Fuel Controls, Catalysts, DPF, PTOX, PCV Systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostatic Air Cleaners, Air Intake Systems, Fuel Injectors, Regulators, Adjustable Cam Gears, ECU Programming, Mapping, or other Computer Modifications. Air Pumps, Air Injection, Timing, and any other Emission System Modification(s).

Purchaser acknowledges and certifies to JH Motorsports Inc., that Purchasers vehicle will only be used for racing applications or off road vehicle use only. Purchaser requests these modifications for the purpose of enhancing the vehicle for competitive Racing Applications and will not use this vehicle on public streets or highways. Purchaser agrees to indemnify JH Motorsports Inc., all employees, officers, owners, and subsidiaries for any civil or criminal liability arising out of use of Purchasers vehicle on public streets or highways as Purchaser has been duly notified of the laws and regulations regarding disconnecting, alteration, or modification of a vehicle’s pollution control devices.
