INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING - JHM HD Cross Rod with a spherical rod end and heavy dudty, graphite impregnated polyurethane bushing. NOTE: We used to leave the stock rubber bushing on the selector shaft cap end OEM which would allow for the differing angles between the cross rod and linkage to work in concert. If we made this solid too the linkage would bind, trust us we tried it and it DID bind. Click HERE to see this original design. After spending time experimenting with different bushing materials, we were finally able to find a setup that was an upgrade over the stock setup while still allowing for the cross rod and linkage rod to have different angles. Just like with the old version, our new JHM HD Cross Rod COMES COMPLETE, AND READY TO BOLT ON WITH ONLY MINOR MODIFICATIONS!!! All you have to do is enlarge the hole in your stock main shift rod for the stock cross rod to 5/16". This will allow the JHM HD Cross Rod to bolt right on. Click HERE for a picture showing how this hole is enlarged. NOTE: If you have an early cross rod on your 2001 and up B5-S4, you may have a late style selector shaft cap. This cap is shown below. This cap has provisions for both early AND late cross rods to be bolted in. The clearance between the OEM bushing and the protrusion for the late cross rod to be bolted to the cap is very tight on a stock car. In some cases, you may have to clearance the area on the cap just slightly to make sure the cross rod can rotate freely. The selector shaft car comes of very easily and is held on by 3 T45 bolts. Please note that you can't just change your cross rod without changing your shifter as well. Make sure you order the correct cross rod for your car and clearance the cap if you have to. High quality cross rod, thank you JHM (Posted on 11/5/2017) - Received my Early style Linkage today. Shipping was very quick and packaging was very good. Part is exactly as described and had a nice black finish. The cross bar fit perfectly and the additional modification to the shift linkage mount was simple and well described. Great product!
