JH Motorsports is proud to introduce our new Driveshaft Center Bearring Carrier Insert (DCSBCI)!

NOTE: This does NOT fit the B8-B8.5 Q5 or SQ5

Our DCSBCI is our take on a simple cost effective solution for a common problem. Requiring no cutting to your factory driveshaft center support carrier, it simply clamps on and removes all driveshaft slop from failed or failing carrier bushings. Factory bushing failure is very common as vehicles get older, and for vehicles producing increased amounts of power. Our DCSBCI will bring your drivetain back to factory smoothness and withstand the abuse that highly modified cars can throw at it. Our unit is also fully serviceable!

Track will be the most stiff but may cause some noticeable NVH on vehicles with out of balanced/worn driveshafts.

Street will remove the slop and help dampen the NVH from out of balanced/worn driveshafts and be more comfortable for the everyday user

Nice product - many benefits: B7 S4 6 speed with only 90k miles...started to develop the driveshaft tunnel/floor vibration while under load (going up hills, passing others, etc.) Reviewed my options and decided to go with the JHM kit. Installation was straight forward after dropping the exhaust, and sure enough, the rubber in the mount was very soft and spongy. Used the street density rope (hollow), cut it to 10" as the starting pint 10 1/8" was just a bit too long). Much stiffer after the installation - really can't wiggle the mounting bracket more than 1/4" of so (it was 1-1 1/2" movement before). Vibration and floor thumping gone...and as an added benefit - the occasional clutch chatter from a dead stop is gone.

Recommend this as the car feels "less loose" for a couple of hours and a small investment. Review by Darius (Posted on 11/11/2025)
Get it now! Best thing I've done so far: I've got a stock c6 a6, and I noticed the wiggling after hard accel and during engine braking, this kit solved it completely, drivability is so much better I can't even believe it. Must have upgrade: Just installed on my C7.5 TDI. I had a light back/forth thump when I would step on the throttle. Very apparent when I would lightly step on it. JHM's setup is very simple and lower cost than other solutions and can be done in-situ.

After installing, it's SOLID. The bearing is not going anywhere. No more thumping. And even better, no additional NVH. Review by Brian (Posted on 6/13/2025)
Awesome product: Recently installed this product and I am super happy with the results. My A6 TDI feels alot firmer driving and taking of from a dead stop. Would absolutely recommend this for any Audi. Jake answered a bunch of dumb questions I had and was super easy to deal with. Easy install, huge benefit: Purchased the JHM carrier insert while I had my driveshaft out for a trans rebuild. Super easy to install and was such a thoughtful and simple fix for a sagging bearing retainer. Other products on the market are over-engineered and too expensive for the end result. Simple solution with incredible results: Completely transformed how my S6 feels and drives. Takeoffs from a stop or sudden throttle inputs no longer suffer from jarring drivetrain lash. Upshifts and downshifts are solid and feel great! For those who do not wish to cut their stock driveshaft carrier and want to save money, this simple solution is for you. Excellent product, effective solution!: I have a C7.5 S6 (2018) with APR Stage 3, and I learned about the center support bearing issues during some research after buying the car. I knew it was inevitable at these power levels and the car developed a vibration from the driveshaft.

After installing the JHM bearing carrier insert, I have little to no vibration from the driveshaft. The install was frustrating at times, but I was able to install it without removing the exhaust using a jack/jackstands in the driveway (swivel sockets are your friend!). Works well with D3: OEM bushing looked OK, just slight sag, but throttle transitions felt like engine or transmission mounts were toast. Installed this carrier insert and now there is 0 driveline lash. No added NVH either. On a D3, the aluminum brackets run into heat shielding, I considered trimming it away, but decided to just let the brackets compress the shielding slightly. Review by Robert (Posted on 2/5/2023)
car feels much more planted: Its been about 4 days since I installed my JHM Driveshaft carrier bearing insert. I put it through some stress tests with launches and everyday cruising conditions before writing this review, just to be sure.

Anyways, immediately after install the car feels much more planted, The rear end feels more "connected" if that makes sense. Before installing, my carrier was definitely failing because I had the shuddering under the rear seat occasionally under WOT. The shuddering is now completely gone, I tried to replicate it in many ways after the install and I can confirm that its completely gone. During the install, It was hard to get the rope to fit flush in the carrier, because my failing carrier was sagging so I had to physically lift the driveshaft a bit to get the rope to fit flush. Now I'm able to drive with confidence that my driveshaft won't break so thats good.

As for NVH, I have not noticed any. Some people told me to see if i get any around 60mph cruising. I have not. I'm not sure what it is that causes this phenomenon where some people get increased NVH with these carrier upgrades and some people don't. I'm fortunate that I did not gain any noticeable NVH. I will give it more time and see how these hold up, but as of now so far so good. I don't notice anything at all.

I do have a bone to pick with audi about the oem non-servicable and weak design. Especially after losing a whole driveshaft on my previous C7. The thinness is almost laughable and definitely doesn't seem like it'll last the life of the car yet they decide to make it a one-piece type of deal that you can't replace without changing the whole driveshaft. These aftermarket options are a godsend for people who drive their car hard.

Overall i'm very satisfied with the JHM kit I installed it with basic tools and the car on jack stands. Install wasn't too bad after I realized why the rope wasn't going in all the way (sagging oem carrier) and the fact that its reversible is nice. Though I don't plan on taking it off.

For the price its hard to beat as well. It does seem like this design will hold up long term just fine. Only time will tell though. But for now I have to give props to JHM. Fixed my issue without losing any comfort. Review by Audibellybutton (Posted on 9/29/2022)
Great quality and easy install.: I've been wanting to get a center bearing carrier from another brand but was hesitant on buying it since you have to cut up your old bearing support. Saw this get released and knew I had to get it. Quality is amazing. Install was very easy and straightforward. I removed the stock exhaust on my B6 A4 since I was installing a new exhaust. I wouldn't do it without removing the exhaust or else you will just be fighting it trying to maneuver around it. As the aforementioned code sections outline, it is against the law to operate or use a vehicle on public streets or highways with modified, altered, or disconnected motor vehicle pollution control devices. This may include but is not limited to, Evaporative Fuel Controls, Catalysts, DPF, PTOX, PCV Systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostatic Air Cleaners, Air Intake Systems, Fuel Injectors, Regulators, Adjustable Cam Gears, ECU Programming, Mapping, or other Computer Modifications. Air Pumps, Air Injection, Timing, and any other Emission System Modification(s).
