Just wanted to share my experience with JHM and their new lowering springs after driving around, city and freeway, for a couple days now.
First and foremost, I appreciate how knowledgeable these guys are about their European cars. They are always on point with their diagnostics, price estimates, and their upcoming services recommendations. For example, I brought my car in because I had a gasoline type of smell in the car (specifically towards the back seat). They were able to find out that my gas tank damaged from my previous accident. The previous body shop didn't look thoroughly enough and found some other issues that should been addressed from the beginning (exhaust was hanging with broken hanger clip). They were able to keep me in the loop during their inspection and came up with a thorough estimate of the repairs to submit to my insurance. Plus, they were super speedy about repairs.
After all of that commotion regarding the crash, I am finally able to build my car. Just to give a bit of background of my baby, he (yes, its a boy) is a 2008 S5 with 119,000 miles with a manual transmission. I have been looking for a while to get my set up started with the most common upgrades first: wheels, windows, and suspension. Wheels were ordered directly from Avant Garde (M621, stage 3 Polished Brushed Gold, 20x10). Slapped those bad boys on in May 2018 and next came the windows. In June of 2018, I was visiting friends down in Mexicali, Mexico where I was able to get the nasty purple bubbly tint taken off (that was on when I purchased the car) and put on some 5% on all 5 windows and a visor strip on the windshield. Plus, it was only 60$ and I had the best street tacos of my life while watching the guys work on my car at a gas station. (Overall experience was a 10/10) (Posted on 2/26/2019)
