We have specialized in tuning naturally aspirated (NA) or "all motor" 4.2L V8 engines since we started tuning the B6-S4 in 2008. Ever since then we have been the number one company when it comes to Audi V8 performance. Like our success with the B6-B7 S4, B7 RS4, and B8-S5 4.2L has shown, our software has been proven time and time again to deliver real world performance. That continues with our tuning for the B8-RS5 4.2L FSI V8. We purchased our in-house B8-RS5 4.2L in mid-2017 and immediately began developing software. After countless revisions and putting the vehicle through our rigorous R&D process, we are happy to now offer the ultimate performance software for your B8-RS5 4.2L FSI V8!
Why is our tuning the BEST? Our Stage 2 performance ECU and TCU software is specifically designed to work in harmony together maximize the engine power output capabilities. Following our success with the B7-RS4 and B8-S5 4.2L FSI Performance Software, we began extensive research and testing with our in house B8-RS5 4.2L. Our tuning will give your RS5 improved throttle response and more power throughout the entire RPM range leading to faster acceleration and a much more rewarding and refined driving dynamic.
By making a ECU and TCU combination that works together we were able to do the following for your RS5:
- Engine Rev limit increased to 8800rpm
- More aggressive throttle control in Sport Mode
- Increased shifting speeds
- More assertive shifting in Sport mode and after using Launch Control
- 1-2 short shift issue in factory file fixed and raised from 7800 rpm to ~8500 rpm
- All other gears raised from 8300/8400 rpm to 8500 rpm
- Launch Control RPM raised from 5500 to 6300
- Launch Control attempts raised from the 200 max limit to unlimited
- More aggressive and consistent Launch Control
- Refined Drive and normal driving shifting
- Current gear displayed on dash in all modes
- "True Manual Mode" Manual Mode holds and will not down shift or up shift (OPTIONAL)
- Higher pump speeds for transmission cooling.
- Higher clutch pressures at all RPM and LOADS
- Raised TQ limiters

In addition to optimal performance, our JHM Stage 2 Performance ECU and TCU Software significantly improves the RS5s EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature). This is beneficial because lower EGTs will improve catalyst life, and better engine protection for long periods of hard use for Road Racing, Autocross, Etc..

If you select this option for your tune, you must select a shipping method for your order so we can ship you a JHM Tuning-Flashing Cable. Please select a shipping method once you've added the tuning and the flashing cable to your cart. Instructions for installing the flashing software on your computer will be emailed to you after purchase.
If you already have a JHM POWER CONNECT Cable, select "I already have a JHM POWER CONNECT Cable." **NOTE: This is a proprietary cable with drivers specific to our Flashing Software so you must make sure that you have a JHM POWER CONNECT Cable, NOT just a generic USB Vag Com cable.** After receiving your paid order, we will send you an authorization form which we will use to create your JHM Tuning Flash Browser account and login information. This is the information you will use to access our server and flash your car with the JHM Tuning-Flashing Cable that you already have.
DISCLAIMER: JHM is now using proven flashing technology in order to get our tunes on our customers' cars in the quickest and most convenient way possible. You will be installing a proprietary JHM software that works ONLY with our flash cable (supplemental software such as Microsoft .net may be required). This program is what allows you to detect your ECU part number, fill in your information, select the correct program based on your hardware and then write JHM Tune to your ECU all through your OBD II port. Both of these programs are highly specific when it comes to configuring your computer to run them properly. While every effort has been made to clearly and completely explain this configuration in our instructions, the customer will ultimately be responsible for removing or disabling their own or third party anti-virus software or firewalls that will block the port required for you to log into our flashing server (see the link to our instructions below to determine whether or not this is something you'll be able to do). Basic technical support provided by JHM to help install these programs on your computer, diagnose programs with your computer, and/or internet connection may be subject to an hourly fee. Additionally, if something happens to your ECU during the flashing process, you should be able to restore it using our software. If you are still unable to make the ECU flash properly, you will be responsible for all costs associated with restoring your ECU and fixing the issue.
Requirements for Tune:
- Windows computer with at least 1 USB (Universal Serial Bus) port
- Wired Broadband Internet Connection (wireless can be unreliable)
- JHM Tuning-Flashing Cable (Flash cable length cannot extend beyond 10 ft long unless a powered USB hub is installed in-line.
- Battery Charger or equivalent power source capable of sustaining a 40 amp charge

You will need to contact your preferred dealer directly and schedule a tuning appointment with them. You shouldn't be charged more than an hours' worth of labor for your JHM Flash.

- A MUST!!
I purchased and installed the ECU tune a year prior to purchasing and installing the TCU tune. The ECU tune certainly made a difference, but there were some engine performance elements I was terribly keen on.
As an aside, I had a manual S5 with JHM tune, and that engine was so smooth and you couldn't possibly get any more throttle response. So, I was spoiled and comparing the RS5 ECU to the S5 tune.
I just had the TCU tune. It's a MUST!! The engine is noticeably more responsive, and runs so much more crisp, smooth. The shifts in particular are so smooth. Even dropping from 6 or 7 to 3rd, no problem!
It's still an automatic, so it isn't as good as the manual S5 with ECU tune. However, I doubt you could get much closer. I really love it. I'm going for rides just because. I'm so happy with how smooth and responsive it is adding the TCU tune. Even my girlfriend in the passenger seat can feel it's smoother. (Posted on 10/3/2020)
