If you have a tiptronic 2.7t B5 or C5 you will need these parts and the reuse parts list below as well as Manual Transmission specific ECU software.

JH Motorsports is pleased to be able offer a complete parts list or "recipe" for those looking to convert their 6-Speed 01E B5-S4, C5 A6-allroad 2.7T Engine to the 0A3 transmission out of the B6-B7 S4. The 0A3 is a MUCH better option due to the gear splits being closer and a slightly lower final total gear ratio, thus you you get much better acceleration and performance. Also the 0A3 has more durable and modern 3 piece synchros that allow smoother, consistent high RPM shifting suitable for big turbo builds needing to live in the high RPM range. The day to day driving is much smoother and easier as well due to this modern design. The 0A3 is much easier to get into reverse because the 0A3 has a reverse synchro unlike the 01E which is a direct pinion gear engagement. Another long term benefit of the 0A3 of the 01E is that internal hard parts like gears and collars are about 50% to 65% less than the older 01E transmission and much more good used parts are readily available vs the early 1990s designed 01E. In our 10+ years of racing the B7 RS4 and B6 B7 S4 we have shifted a stock 0A3 transmission at 9000 RPM without issues. The B6-B7 S4 0A3 shares the exact same synchros as a much lower ratio RS4 transmission that has a stock redline of 8250rpm. Most of these parts are easily sourced good used parts and a few are specialized components that we design, manufacture and sell specifically to make this swap a reality.
NOTE: We don't recommend the RS4 0A3 transmissions in a B5 or C5 due to much lower ratios than the B6-B7 S4 and much higher cost to acquire.

TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH PARTS
1 x JHM B5 C5 Trans Mount Bracket Kit for B6-B7 S4 0A3 transmission conversion-swap CLICK HERE
B5 S4 = 1 x pair B6-B7 S4 or RS4 front axles
C5 A6-allroad 2.7t = 2 x RF B6-B7 S4 or RS4 front axles due to wider A6-allroad wheelbase.
2 x Right Front C5-allroad 6MT CV shafts. Must be from an allroad MT car only.
2 x B5 S4 and C5 A6 2.7t 01E Trans mounts, we recommend 034 street density available on our site. PN=034-509-4046
1 x Set of B6-B7 S4 0A3 transmission to block bolts. **
1 x B6-B7 S4 0A3 transmission. (note, reuse 01E spacer and dowels.) Also the crank sensor needs to have the aluminum spacer removed that it originally had for the 01E)
1 x B5 S4 2.7t clutch and flywheel combo (Our performance options work very well with the 0A3)
1 x B6-B7 S4 shift rod setup (all 3). NOTE: The body does need clearancing for the B6 rods sometimes due to rods being shorter and sitting more forward in the car, also when using a JHM shifter it helps to clearance for the back two shifter assembly mount holes to access the bolts due to the spacers.
1 x B6-B7 S4-RS4 OEM or JHM shifter. These are clamp on knob, you can run B5-S4 or C5 A6-allroad 01E shifters but they must be 01.5 and up with an angled base, keep in mind the B6-B7 shifter is much better.
1 x B5-C5 plastic shifter box and boot only.
1 x B6-B7 S4-RS4 0A3 Drivers side front CV shaft shield.
1 x B6-B7 S4-RS4 0A3 Passenger side front CV shaft shield.
6 x CV shaft shield bolts.
1 x B6-B7 S4-RS4 0A3 Rear driveshaft shield.
2 x Driveshaft shield bolts.

DRIVESHAFT AND REAR DIFF PARTS
B5 S4 = 1 x B5 A4 5-speed Rear diff- Diff code DAJ with 3.89 ratio to match B6-B7 S4 transmissions front diff ratio. NOTE: You MUST swap your B5 S4 larger 110mm output shaft flanges to the A4 rear diff with smaller 100mm flanges. This is just one bolt each and a good time to replace the seals and fill the rear diff with fresh fluid. All parts we stock.
C5 A6 = 1 x C5 A6 2.8L 5-speed Rear diff- Diff code EUT with 3.89 ratio to match B6-B7 S4 transmissions front diff ratio.
1 x ADAPTED 01E DRIVESHAFT (MAKE IT SHORTER BY 1.25" on the front side of the center bearing). Any good driveshaft shop can do this, expect to pay between $250 to $400 depending on your shop. This is because they need to cut the shaft, remove material and then rebalance both the front and rear sections. Keep in mind it is a great time to get a 034 driveshaft bearing from us, 2 x driveshaft boots (they are torn a lot which is bad for the joints) and or cv joints as needed to freshen it up and keep vibrations down.

REUSE OR SOURCE THESE 01E parts if you do not have them.
1 x Crank sensor.
1 x Driveshaft - to be modified as per above.
1 x Starter.
1 x B5-C5 clutch master cylinder.
1 x B6 S4 early slave cylinder.
1 x JHM stainless clutch line (OEM works too but is more difficult install).
1 x B5 S4 - C5 A6-allroad 2.7t clutch and flywheel combo ( Our performance options work very well with the 0A3)
2 x Engine dowels for 01E Transmission and Spacer - OEM PN 01E301153B
1 x Engine to Transmission spacer for 01E Transmission - 11.2mm thick, this is VERY important to be correct - OEM PN 01E103551C
1 x B5-C5 Clutch pedal assembly with all 3 pedals.
1 x Wiring and pigtails for clutch pedal assembly.
1 x Shift boot and bezel specific from a 2000-2004 MT C5 A6 or allroad. NOTE: the 02 and up have a clamp on knob.
1 x Shift knob. OEM or JHM. OEM are more difficult to find if you are switching from a screw on knob to clamp on or visa versa
