NOTE: Most of the industry refers to this style pipe as a "Test Pipe" we call it a race pipe to further clarify this product is for Racing Competition only and is not legal for use in highway or street vehicles or other non-racing competition off-road vehicles. As the pictures above show, the OEM cat-pipes are extremely restrictive and limit the amount of power this motor can produce. Our JHM 2.5" race-pipes are a must have item for any S5 4.2L V8 owner looking to make serious power from their vehicle.

 

These pipes were featured in the record setting runs of our in-house B8-S5 4.2L FSI V8:

 

 

FITMENT: These race-pipes fit ALL B8-S5s with the 4.2L V8 FSI motor, manual or automatic. We have also designed these race-pipes to work with both stock and other "brand-x" aftermarket downpipes. So, our JHM 2.5" Stainless Steel Race-Pipes will work with both your stock downpipes AND your aftermarket downpipes (if the downpipes were built for stock location, OEM cat-pipes.

 

NOTE: These pipes were designed on a Left Hand Drive vehicle. We have had some Right Hand Drive customers mention that they had to make a slight indentation in the pipe to clear the steering shaft and linkage. Please take this into consideration when ordering.

AMAZING!!!
I recently purchased the Race Pipes they offer for the S5 and all I can say is AMAZING!! I was able to install them myself after doing some research which saved me money and only cost me time. I also purchased the tune they offer and will be doing that soon as well. If I have any questions I can always call/email and I'll get the answers I'm looking for every time.

I'd like to thank everyone over at JH Motorsports for the quality of their products and great service because I will continue coming to them for more mods for my S5.

Delivery time
I haven't installed the test pipe yet but i want to assess the delivery time. What I can say so far is that the quality of the prodcut and detailed manufacture of the test pipes are unique. I placed an order on friday the 19th of January and the product arrived on the 24th. I live in Austria (Central Europe) so only four weekdays are very fast!!! Review by Thomas (Posted on 1/25/2018)
WOW!!! If your primary focus it POWER, then these test pipes are for you!!! When paired with any aftermarket exhaust system, SERIOUS gains are obtained. EXCELLENT product!!! I have mine installed on my 2008 Audi S5, paired with Miltek non-resonated downpipes, and non-resonated exhaust. NO drone at all. By eliminating your CATS, you will smell some fuel, but not with-in the cabin. THIS MODIFICATION IS A MUST HAVE!!! Thanks JHM for such an amazing product!!! Review by Martez (Posted on 4/19/2016)

Vehicle Code § 27156:
(b) No person shall operate or leave standing upon a highway a motor vehicle that is required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device under Part 5 (commencing with Section 43000) of Division 26 of the Health and Safety Code or any other certified motor vehicle pollution control device required by any other state law or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant to that law, or required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device pursuant to the National Emission Standards Act (42 U.S.C. Secs. 7521 to 7550, inclusive) and the standards and regulations adopted pursuant to that federal act, unless the motor vehicle is equipped with the required motor vehicle pollution control device that is correctly installed and in operating condition. No person shall disconnect, modify, or alter any such required device.
(c) No person shall install, sell, offer for sale, or advertise any device, apparatus, or mechanism intended for use with, or as a part of, a required motor vehicle pollution control device or system that alters or modifies the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control device or system.

Health and Safety Code § 43000:
43001. The provisions of this part shall not apply to:
(a) Racing vehicles.

As the aforementioned code sections outline, it is against the law to operate or use a vehicle on public streets or highways with modified, altered, or disconnected motor vehicle pollution control devices. This may include but is not limited to, Evaporative Fuel Controls, Catalysts, DPF, PTOX, PCV Systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostatic Air Cleaners, Air Intake Systems, Fuel Injectors, Regulators, Adjustable Cam Gears, ECU Programming, Mapping, or other Computer Modifications. Air Pumps, Air Injection, Timing, and any other Emission System Modification(s).

Purchaser acknowledges and certifies to JH Motorsports Inc., that Purchasers vehicle will only be used for racing applications or off road vehicle use only. Purchaser requests these modifications for the purpose of enhancing the vehicle for competitive Racing Applications and will not use this vehicle on public streets or highways.
