** INTEGRATED BAFFLE SYSTEM VERSION **

The Integrated Baffle System Version of our JHM HFC Downpipes are for those who are looking for a quieter exhaust system. The baffles have been designed and strategically located in the downpipes to reduce unwanted drone and rasp (Depending on your catback, results may vary).  We used popular exhaust systems for our trials (AWE Touring & Track) along with our JHM Race Pipes and were able to get the interior noise down to just 70db while cruising at 70mph in 6th gear at 2500RPM with the JHM Baffled Downpipes.  That is 10db quieter than the AWE Touring and 15db quieter than the AWE Track systems WITHOUT the JHM Baffled Downpipes installed.  During our testing, at 70db we heard more road/tire noise than exhaust. Note:  The main purpose of the Integrated Baffle System is to combat unwanted drone and take the edge off rasp. 

(Tested on a B8 S4 6-Speed Manual)

 

Built as a direct OEM replacement, our JHM Catted Downpipes are easy to install with simple hand tools with no cutting or welding required. Our Downpipe is designed to increase low-end torque and maximize power throughout the entire RPM band. Moving the Catalytic Converters further downstream into the downpipes, we are able to take full advantage of our JHM B8 2.5" Race Pipes and alleviate heat build-up close to the engine, increases Catalytic Converter longevity, as well as overall engine performance.

Great Product on 3.0t
I have been nothing but happy with these Downpipes. The baffles in these downpipes on my A6 when coupled with the JHM Test Pipes really make a difference when compared to the IE downpipes I have on the SQ5. There is significantly less rasp and less volume in the cabin. It is mated to an S6 Sport Exhaust, so it still screams when I'm on it, but no drone and very little volume in the cabin. Product has held up after going through a ton of quarter mile pulls and everyday driving in Denver winter. I have had no indication of failing cats after driving extremely hard for a while as well, which as 3.0t drivers know can be a problem. Review by Kyle W (Posted on 2/12/2021)

Vehicle Code § 27156:
(b) No person shall operate or leave standing upon a highway a motor vehicle that is required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device under Part 5 (commencing with Section 43000) of Division 26 of the Health and Safety Code or any other certified motor vehicle pollution control device required by any other state law or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant to that law, or required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device pursuant to the National Emission Standards Act (42 U.S.C. Secs. 7521 to 7550, inclusive) and the standards and regulations adopted pursuant to that federal act, unless the motor vehicle is equipped with the required motor vehicle pollution control device that is correctly installed and in operating condition. No person shall disconnect, modify, or alter any such required device.
(c) No person shall install, sell, offer for sale, or advertise any device, apparatus, or mechanism intended for use with, or as a part of, a required motor vehicle pollution control device or system that alters or modifies the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control device or system.

Health and Safety Code § 43000:
43001. The provisions of this part shall not apply to:
(a) Racing vehicles.

As the aforementioned code sections outline, it is against the law to operate or use a vehicle on public streets or highways with modified, altered, or disconnected motor vehicle pollution control devices. This may include but is not limited to, Evaporative Fuel Controls, Catalysts, DPF, PTOX, PCV Systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostatic Air Cleaners, Air Intake Systems, Fuel Injectors, Regulators, Adjustable Cam Gears, ECU Programming, Mapping, or other Computer Modifications. Air Pumps, Air Injection, Timing, and any other Emission System Modification(s).

Purchaser acknowledges and certifies to JH Motorsports Inc., that Purchasers vehicle will only be used for racing applications or off road vehicle use only. Purchaser requests these modifications for the purpose of enhancing the vehicle for competitive Racing Applications and will not use this vehicle on public streets or highways.
